I am very disappointed with the service that I received when visiting the Birmingham Clinic for a Consultation with Dr Vohra. His
approach was not professional and he was arrogant when speaking to me. The environment was very uncomfortable especially when he needed
to carry out an examination. There was no privacy when getting undressed in front of the Doctor and Nurse, they just sat and watched,
which was very intimidating. On two occasions there was a conversation between the Doctor and Nurse about the previous patient, which I
find very inappropriate. Also, during the hour that I spent there, I was taken back and forth about 10 times into the rooms, which I
felt was unnecessary. When I came to leave after speaking to the Nurse who went through the costing for the available treatment, I was
shocked to see the Doctor sitting about in the waiting room. I felt very uncomfortable as I wanted to speak to the Receptionist and
again I did not find his behaviour very professional at all. Overall I am extremely disappointed with this private health care and it
was not what I expected at all. I would not recommend this to anyone and will certainly not be going back to have the treatment.
Client Response:Thank you for your feedback regarding your visit to our clinic on 30th January 2016. Our team do recall your visit to our clinic and we can therefore clarify some of the points you have raised. If you would prefer, the management team is happy to discuss your concerns with you in person or on the telephone.
Professor Vohra is one of the most experienced consultant vascular surgeons with years of NHS experience. We are saddened and surprised that you were made to feel uncomfortable by him and the nurse. They usually work extremely well together and our nurse also works in theatre therefore has a very good understanding of what is involved in the procedure but also how nervous some of our patients may feel. Our nurse recalls that to help put you at ease, and to reassure you, Professor Vohra did talk you through the venous anatomy.
As with all our patients, to ensure each appointment is managed appropriately, it would have been necessary for you to been seen by various clinicians and staff within our clinic. This would have included the initial consultation, a scan to assess the condition accurately, followed by further discussion by Professor Vohra to explain to you the clinical conclusion and treatment plan. As the final part of the patient journey, you would have discussed costing's with our coordinator.
We’re sorry you felt that our clinic was uncomfortable. We have invested a lot of time to try and ensure the environment is comfortable, but are also mindful that this is a clinic which carries out surgical procedures. We have fed back with regards to your feeling of the lack of privacy as no patient should feel this, however, please be reassured that the blinds are kept closed at all times.
