I was an inpatient for 1/2 days. My experience of the administration side of this hospital is very poor, nobody seems to know what is
going on, for example appointments made then cancelled and no one knows why,I attended for my pre op and there was no staff to do it and
nobody knew I was sat there for 45 minutes until I asked at reception,my procedure being booked for a date when it was known there was
no anaesthetist available but still booked anyway but then cancelled. I have specific dietary requirements (allergy to dairy and also
plant based diet)which the hospital was aware of.The staff did not seem aware of what this entails (no animal products) ,the kitchen
staff also unaware of what is vegan and what is not,I had to tell them what to look for on something as simple as a loaf of bread.For my
breakfast the next day I had 2 bananas, lunch was a shop bought pie and a some potato and vegetables,my partner had to bring me a
sandwich the previous evening as there was nothing for me to eat in the hospital kitchen because they had made sandwiches with meat in
them .The hospital makes a big thing about it’s food but this only seems to be if you eat animal products, not good enough! A plant
based diet has become mainstream please take steps to understand this.During my stay it was a very warm spell of weather, however the
room was almost unbearably hot.The mattress on the bed was one of the most uncomfortable I’ve experienced with a sag in the
middle.Ideally I should have stayed another night but under the circumstances of the standard of food and bed I wanted to go home.

I attended Renacres hospital under the care of Mr O Donnell Ophthalmic Consultant Surgeon. The operation was being carried out as a day
patient under local anaesthetic and the whole process was well organised, at all stages explanations were given and an opportunity to
ask questions. While no operation is stress free and one on your eyes is particularly stressful everything possible was done to manage
and reduce the stress. The operation was carried out quickly, professionally and seems successfully I am now waiting for the other eye
to be done but have functional sight between the 2 eyes.
