Excellent surgical and nursing care in a building needing investment (no A/C) and overall management as part of a huge BMI group
questionable. My knee complications required two/three weeks of respite care (not an issue, it happens.) This clinic is unsuitable for
anyone expecting more than a few days stay unless they are prepared to accept appalling food from an uninteresting limited menu without
fresh fish. On the basis of a contract that, 'Will save BMI £4.5m a year,' food is supplied by the huge 'Compass Group' and arrives
prepared from 'Esteam' that says it all. The preparation consists of steaming and serving mush. Frequent and repeated failure to stock
supplies in my case twice ran out of peppermint tea bags and vanilla ice cream, how can a kitchen do that? Staff are not allowed to,
'nip down to Sainsbury's' close by and purchase the missing commodities whilst management hides behind 'Food Traceability' and so must
await Compass to provide it a few days later or not at all - pathetic. No fresh fish on the menu is unforgivable. Staff are provided by
the same process but a lower grade (cost) range resulting in predictably very few who partake. Broadband in the rooms is dial up speed
and radio/television limited channel range and poor quality picture and sound. Respite costs £370 pounds a day for the room and limited
services, certainly not vfm and should be at least three star quality on the AA scale. Care quality and staffing top notch, always
delightfully charming. PCM
